DIY Boston Bag with Two Zip Pockets

DIY Boston Bag with Two Zip Pockets

Boston bags are great for carrying good amount of items with you because of their spaciousness. I have made a Boston bag with mini zipper pockets and one main zipper pocket. 1 mini zipper pocket is on the outside and 1 mini zipper pocket is on the inside of the bag to keep you small stuff more organized.

I have used polyester canvas to craft this bag. I have quilted the bag with the help of quilting guide tool with a layer of polyester sheet underneath the main fabric.

Final size of the bag is:

  • Height: 19cm
  • Width: 30cm
  • Depth: 10cm

To make the bag you will require:

  • Two fabric for short straps: 42.5cm x 10cm
  • 1 quilted fabric: 51cm x 46cm
  • 2quilted fabric: 46cm x 7cm
  • -Fabric for outside zipper pocket: 30cm x 21cm
  • Fabric for inside Zipper Pocket: 29cm x 21cm
  • Zip main: 50cm
  • Zip for outside zipper pocket: 22cm
  • Zip for inside zipper pocket: 20cm
  • 2 D-rings fabric: 5cm x 8cm
  • 2 D rings
  • 1 lining fabric cut to pattern
  • Adjustable strap

How to attach the pieces for patter:

  • Reconfirm the test square to confirm the measurements of pattern
  • Tape together A and B along the arrows and cut out the outline.
  • Trace the AB on another paper, cut it out and tape it to the left of AB along the arrows
  • Trace the 2 AB taped together, trace it on the paper, cut it out and tape it below AB and 2AB taped together
  • You just have your pattern ready

Note: Seam allowance of 1 cm is already added in the pattern.

You can watch the complete video in detail on my YouTube video for which I am attaching the link below. Do comment if you like the bag.
