Who doesn’t know the feeling of not being able to find a nice gift bag which is a perfect fit for a parcel you want to gift to someone special. Whether you want to find a perfect bag for the gift or you want to customize the bag to your liking, crafting a professional looking gift bag is a skill worth learning.
We bring you this simple method along with picture demonstration, following which you will be able to design a gift bag of your own choice and liking.
For crafting a gift bag you will be needing:
- 1 white chart paper
- 1 Hard paper
- 1 wrapping sheet
- 2 strings or ribbons
- A paper puncture
- Glue
- Scotch tape
Cut a rectangular piece of white chart paper according to your need. Keep the Length and width of chart paper approximately 2 inches more than the parcel. Also cut the wrapping sheet of your preference exactly the size of white chart paper. This will make the main outer face of your bag. You can also paint, print or create a design of your own preference.
Fold the sheet as shown below, the folded sides should overlap at the center. Keep the crease as your guideline for folding both sides in equal balance.
Glue together the sides as shown below.
Fold the corner as shown below
Grab the upper portion and fold it downwards and lower bottom upwards. Glue the both together.
Fold the sides of your bag as shown below and open up the fold. This will help you give the nice depth to your bag.
Fold and adjust the side crease you just opened as shown below.
Cut a piece of hard paper exactly the size of bottom of the bag. Glue it to the inner side of the bag.
Place the tape on the inner upper sides of the bag. This will give support to the bag.
Punch the holes on the upper side of the bag.
Draw strings or ribbon as per your preference through the holes. Glue or tape the ends to the inner side of the bag to make the hold more strong and reliable.
Your bag is all set for you to place the parcel in it and gift it to someone special.
